An entry on the benchmark site GFXBench suggests that the upcoming Motorola Moto Z Play will have mid-range leanings for specs, but with the Moto Z design language.

So it's official, Lenovo has announced 6 September 2016 as the day to unveil the all new Motorola Moto Z in China. This is was confirmed on Weibo by Lenovo’s Mobile Business Group co-President, Chen Xudong. The Moto Z is said to be the world's thinnest flagship, coming with 5.2mm thickness along with 5.5-inch AMOLED display (2K resolution).

The Motorola Moto Z is fast becoming the darling of the thin and feature rich smartphones in the market today. However the Moto Mods that was introduced with the smartphone family promises more than just pretty cases. Well if the new report is true, we may just see a revolution in smartphone accessories.

Joining the Motorola Moto Z and Moto Z Force is the Moto Z Play, as outed by the chinese certification agency TENAA. The specs of the phone make it a mid-range in the Moto Z family, but it still comes with the Moto Z characteristics and design language.

The Motorola Moto Z did not come with a standard 3.5mm audio jack, which made many feel sad (and a small number of people elated). This allows the device to be super thin, but at the expense of lost connectivity. A new leak for the upcoming Moto Z Play showing that the larger phone may be bringing back the 3.5mm audio jack to the Moto family.

Dual rear cameras seem to be the in-thing now, as Motorola Moto X (2016) was spotted in GFXBench again revealing not one, but two camera sensors at the back. After the launch of the Motorola Moto Z family, one member was surprisingly missing from the lineup – the Play model. Now however we may have a clue on how it will look like – at least underneath the skin.

If you are looking to get yourself the new Motorola Moto Z and perhaps one of the Moto Mod add-ons for the phone, you may want to start your money collection from now. If the price from Verizon is indicative of global prices later on, the Moto Mods will be expensive.
